Disney World

Disney World is located just outside Orlando, Florida and is not only a world class resort but is the largest and most visited recreational resort in the world. Disney World is home to four theme parks along with themed hotels and several entertainment and recreational activities.

The four theme parks inlcude The Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney-MGM Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdon.

The Magic Kingdom offers rides such as Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor, Astro Orbiter, Donald’s Boat, Pooh’s Playful Spot, Stitch’s Great Escape, and several other attractions like Cinderella Castle and Jungle Cruise. The Magic Kingdom has live entertainment like Dream-Along Mickey, meet and greet the characters with Storytime with Belle and others, and even nightime entertainment with SpectroMagic Parade.

The Epcot Center offers attractions such as Mission: SPACE, Test Track, Soarin' which are the big thrill rides, little rides for the younger children such as Kidcot Fun Stops, Spaceship Earth, and several pavilions like Spaceship Earth Pavilion, Mexico Pavilion, and Germany Pavilion to name a few. Epcot not only has wonderful rides and attractions but also has wonderful dining experiences, unique entertainment options, and many tours to keep the entire family busy.

Disney-MGM Studios opened in 1989 at Disney World and has been thrilling families and individuals since. Attractions include Hollywood Boulevard, Backlot, Mickey Avenure, Animation Courtyard, and Sunset Boulevard. A glimpse of the fun at Disney-MGM Studios is The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. This ride will take you on a phantom elevator that will take you to the top of the 13th floor creepy hotel and then fall all the way, but then you shoot right back up again. Each time you take a ride on the ghostly elevator will not be the same as the elevator is in control of your destiny. Other exciting rides inlcude Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith, High School Musical 2:School’s Out!, and Fantasmic!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom is of course the home to real, ancient, and imagined animals of all types. The various themed areas to explore include Oasis, Discovery Island, Camp Minnie-Mickey, Africa, Rafiki's Planet Watch, Asia, and DinoLand U.S.A.

Disney World offers other attractions besides the theme parks which include Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach, Disney’s Boardwalk, Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex, and Downtown Disney. You will find a variety of dining experiences and many other attractions as you explore the 25,000 acre park.

Prices of course vary as to whether you wish to stay at the resort or just visit various areas. As of this writing the prices are as follows:
Theme Park Tickets – Magic Your Way tickets for ages 10 and over are around $30 per day, 3 to 9 around $24 per day.
Annual Passes for the water park or theme park average $100 to $559.
A single day at the water park costs around $40
Disney Quest for the day will cost around $30 to $36.
Pleasure Island for the day is around $22.

Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex is around $10 for the day.
